Chevy camaro key wont come out. What do you think. I unplugged it just like in the video. If it is the key should come right out.
Obviously the strng wheel and t signal assy will need to come out. The switch goes bad and the key gets stuck. You dont need to manhandle anything.
But without a key it will not push in. If thats not possible some surgery will be needed. The most common problem is the ignition lock solenoid that fails.
The key will only get stuck in the ignition if the car is stationary which may cause the battery to go flat if it cannot be moved out of the accessory position to the off position. Another problem most people dont realize is the ring the key is on also is home for other keys. If you lose battery power the switch is closed and it assumes youre not in park.
There is a switch in the shifter that sends a signal to a solenoid in the key mechanism on the steering column that releases the key. Try reprogram key put key in ignition switch turn ignition switch on position 20 seconds dont start engine wait 20 seconds turn off switch then turn switch back on 20 seconds watch the theft security light blinkingwhen theft stop blinking vechicle will crankif light still blinkingtry few more times key in switch on position for 20 secondsmake sure you have the correct car keys in switch if not wrong set of car keys will set off theft security systemif key.
