2010 camaro keys wont come out ignition.
My camaro key wont come out. It was located between the seat and door and you would pull up to engage and then park the lever back down so you could get in and out of the car. It has been in the shop at least 6 - 8 times for the key getting stuck in the ignition. If the car cannot be shifted into park you will need to have repairs made to the shifter.
The problem started when the car had only around 5000. Now that weve tried all of the easier and likely things that can make a Camaros key get stuck that arent the key itself its time to go ahead and try to get the key out. You can take a small screwdriver and move the pin in and out.
The most common problem is the ignition. Then twist and pull the knob right off. Average repair cost is 350 at 28850 miles.
In all the cases we have came across this is because of a problem in the shift handle knobbutton assembly. We are the best key wont come out of lock locksmiths for your Camaro in the city. Turning the wheel doesnt help at all and I had to keep turning the car on and off until the key would budge.
When you turn the ignition key and step on the brake it releases the shift interlock system. There is a small pin that comes out of the solenoid. Trinkets key fobs ect ect.
The key will only get stuck in the ignition if the car is stationary which may cause the battery to go flat if it cannot be moved out of the accessory position to the off position. The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro has 12 problems reported for key getting stuck in ignition switch. The steering column will need to be disassembled to see what has broken.
